'Lighting designer Prema Mehta's breathtaking lighting schemes, simple, subtle,
and feeling at all times exactly right are a major ingredient of the show's
success. There's a fine combination of candles and subtly-raised stage lights
that exactly evoke the abandoned flat; and her sunrises and night-lighting
sequences are a creative delight.'

'Simon Vinnicombe's impressive debut certainly suggests all his characters are caught up in a vicious circle of violence beyond their control. Max Key directs with a constant eye on the simmering violence. The Philip Glass music and stark lighting also add a nightmarish quality alongside more realistic scenes.'
